The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization founded in 2002, in loving memory of Dr. Michael I. Feinglass who was terminally stricken with colon cancer at the young age of thirty. Michael was an extraordinary person, kind and compassionate, with a great sense of humor and an incredible enthusiasm for life. Despite his painfully severe illness, he always showed great courage and inner strength. Throughout his illness, Michael had hoped to continue his relentless passion for helping and healing others. Our mission is to fulfill Michael's legacy. The Dr. Michael Feinglass Cancer Foundation was established by his parents, Ellen & Jay Feinglass, his sister, Susan Feinglass Guzman, and his lifelong friends. Michael's positive energy was always compelling, and his passion for helping others lives on as it influences the goals of this Foundation. With these standards as a guide, and the realization that a "support network" was very important during Michael's medical treatments and became vital in sustaining his quality of life, the Foundation was formed. The funds raised will be put towards efforts to extend life, offer new treatments, and promote a better quality of life for children and young adults with cancer. Provide direct financial support for expenses related to cancer treatment.
Provide resources as incentives for children and young adults undergoing chemotherapy and various medical procedures.
Fund educational programs to increase understanding of the disease and encourage social support for the patient during treatment and post-treatment.
Purchase innovative equipment to enhance treatments and cures for cancer. This Foundation is affiliated with some of the area's foremost pediatric oncology centers, but is not part of any other organization.
